Thanks to everyone who came along to Presentation Day yesterday Sat 11/5/24.   We had a great turnout of 67 including some afternoon teas, playing 2 games of 8 ends (with power plays).      Thanks to Rob Telling for donating 4 x $20 Bunnings Vouchers and we also had 3 boxes of chocolates for a lucky number draw.          All the champions have been on the GALLERY/Championships page for ages, so you can double check it again if you wish at this link

One of the most exciting part was the awards for the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER in each team.    Coach Henny Cortenbach explained how the points system worked, and I’m sure he would have put in a heap of time and effort during the year to assemble results for over 112 players each week.  Thanks to Henny for generously donating the prizes with the overall winner receiving a $200 Coles Myer Voucher, and the other 6 winners receiving $50 Coles Myer Vouchers.       Winners not present have been notified and can pick their envelope up from Jackie at the club til end of May, or David Scott from June onwards.

The winners are:
OVERALL WINNER – Rick Bennett from 1st team
Peter Rawlingson – 2nd team.
Trevor Ford – 3rd team.
Lorraine Hampton – 4th team
Gary Lee – 5th team
Coral Timewell – 6th team
Tony McDonald – 7th team

Congratulations to one of our Mooroolbark members, Lyn Cameron, who recently won the ERBR Over 60 Women’s Pairs Championship with Sandy Elliott from Heathmont.

Eastern Ranges Bowls Region holds a number of Championship events every year for members of the 33 Bowls Clubs within its region. It is a great opportunity to compete against bowlers from other clubs in our area.

Dave and Pam Hillard, Doug Peck and Ron Morton recently played in a charity event, BOWLS GR8 FOR BRAINS, at Chirnside Park BC with featured speakers Karen Murphy and Gary Willis. They were lucky enough to play on the TV Rink against Gary, and WON THEIR GAME. You can check them out on the link below

Mooroolbark celebrated some big birthdays on Saturday – Beryl, Albie, Phyllis, Maggie, Col, Peter and Jim. Special CONGRATULATIONS to Alby who celebrated his 90th and is still out there playing great pennant games. The ladies may not like ages being mentioned, so suffice to say the rest of the spring chickens all have an 8 in front of their birthday! Best wishes for good health and lots more bowling.

Bev takes pride of place outside the clubhouse.
Big thanks to the Monday Morning Crew for a great job.
