PRE SEASON 9s AND PENNANT
The Bowls Victoria 9’s Pre Season competition starts this coming Saturday 3rd September. The competition runs over 3 consecutive weeks 3rd, 10th & 17th September. A squad of fifty four players have been selected from the names players entered on the Pre Season 9’s availability sheet, there are 6 Sides of 9 players = (54). The Side format for the Pre Season competition is one team of 3 bowl pairs 18 ends, one team of 2 bowl triples 18 ends and one team of 2 bowl fours 15 ends. Please take note, all games start at 12.00 o’clock with a roll up at 11.30am. Full club uniform to be worn.
Players who have not been selected in a team will be allocated to play home practice games with a scorecard to be used and the results recorded. Green fees will not be applicable for these players, club uniforms must be worn, the playing format will be 3 bowl pairs of 18 ends, these games will also start at 12.00 o’clock.
Normal practice games will commence in October against opposition clubs with the following arrangements:
- October 1st we will be playing three Sides from Blackburn at home in addition to other internal practice matches
- October 8th 5 Sides from the Dandenong Club will be coming to play at Mooroolbark and additionally one of our Sides will be travelling to play at Yarra Junction for a practice game.
If you have entered your name on the Pennant availability sheet to play Saturday Pennant this season you will be considered available for selection for these games in October and the rest of the season. If you are not available please enter you name in the unavailable book which is on the wall just beside the Men’s toilet door.
The Saturday Pennant season 2022/2023 will then start on October 15th with final fixtures still to be released. The final season fixtures will be displayed on the noticeboard once received. If you have any queries feel free to contact one of the Match Committee.
